Photo shoots, like Christmas, come but once a year. At least for HoHo Hats. The hard part was accomplished years ago by finding a wonderful photographer. Heather Nelson Neils is far and away the best photographer I've worked with in southwest Florida and her look has become part of HoHo Hat's brand. You would think model photography is relatively straightforward, but it involves so many variables. Location, model selection, outfits to compliment the product, hair, makeup, lighting, hours of shooting time, editing, selections and on. So Heather and I have it pretty well down now. We have a great stylist, Cate Baker, who is an expert on hair and makeup. In addition to those talents, Cate can put together the "look". Our models are usually not pros but friends we know. The outfits come out of our own closets and Heather, Cate and I make those choices hours before our studio time. And if our model says, "OH! I love THAT hat!", we make adjustments ;-) With a big rack of outfits, a bed stacked with sweaters and jewelry, heels and boots all over the floor, we dressed this year's wonderful model Katie Marsh like a paper doll! Then it's off to the studio, StillMotion in Naples, a terrific, top quality and very professional facility. Although location photography can be really charming, when it's 90+ degrees outside and our model needs to look fabulous in a fur hat, the studio makes everything much easier. So you'll see the results as our creative pro Jared French uses these and more images for some holiday fun! Enjoy the view!
